Patricia Ann Constable, a responsible daughter, a committed wife, a beloved sister, a devoted mother, an adoring grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Richardson, Texas, surrounded by her family after a battle with cancer. Born on January 31, 1946, in Coleman, Texas, to Clarence W. Smith and Bobbie Jennings Smith, Patricia “Trisha” Ann lived a life rich in love and devotion to her family, her local church and was committed to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ.

She grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in the Class of 1964. She worked at Owl Drug Store serving shakes and sodas to the local community. On October 24, 1964, she married the love of her life, Darman Dean Constable, in Abilene after his deployment serving in the US Air Force. They began their journey together in Odessa for two years before moving to Midland where they put down deep roots for many years. After Dean’s passing on September 17, 2003, Ann continued to reside in Midland until 2017 when she moved to Rowlett, Texas to be closer to her oldest daughter and family.

Ann was known for having an open heart and the warmest smile. She was never short for words and left even those she had just met feeling seen and loved as if they had known her for years. As she and Dean settled into their life in Midland, she fully committed herself daily to being the hands and feet of Christ. She was a long-time member of Alamo Heights Baptist Church. Her roles included being a member of almost every committee (including the committee on committees.) From Sunday School to Vacation Bible School and from church camps to teaching the College and Career class, she discipled and shared her faith with all ages. She made endless casseroles and her famous punch while also decorating for many weddings, fellowships, and funerals. The phrase “every time the doors were open” was an understatement for Ann, Dean, and their family. For many years she would help host a reunion in Coleman for her large extended family each summer. Each Christmas, she would open up her fully decorated home to her friends for a large party. As her family continued to grow, she could be found on the sideline of every sporting event, band concert, theater production and school activity she could attend for each daughter, grandchild and later great grandchildren. Some of her fondest memories came from traveling as far as Alaska and to Disney World with her family. Yet, she was just as content to have all the kids and grandkids over to her home. Many laughs were shared over game nights, movie nights and holidays in the house she and Dean created specifically to host all of those she loved most.

Ann was a loving mother to her three daughters and is survived by Deana Ann Bradford and her husband Preston Todd of Wylie, Texas, Tanya Renee Stephens and her husband James of Greely, Colorado, and Teresa Dawn Ortega and her husband Abel of Midland, Texas. She is also leaving a legacy of ten cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, that she absolutely adored in her favorite role as their Nana. She delighted in spoiling each one of them and wouldn’t let one meet-up pass without a kiss and hug with her classic “give me some sugar!” She was a loving older sister from the time she was 18 months old and would continue to have deep bonds with each one of her siblings and loved their families as her own. She is survived by her sister, Clarice Trammell, her brother, Sherman Smith, his wife Tammy, and her brother-in-law Darrell Hunter along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence W. Smith and Bobbie Jennings Smith, her husband Darman “Dean” Constable, her sister Wanda Hunter and her brother-in-law, Robert Trammell.

Patricia Ann Smith Constable lived a life that embodies the fullness of a women of faith – full of unconditional love and commitment to her family, friends and church. Even as she abruptly had to assume the life of a widow, she never faltered in her dedication to living a life on mission. She prayed often for God to use her, no matter her circumstances. Later in her life, while living in her comfy apartment with her mobility limited, she still spread the Love of Christ to the new friends she made. She also continued to make it a point to keep in touch with so many friends she had known for decades. She is leaving behind a legacy of goodness, kindness and reliance on Jesus that her family will continue to spread into a world where is it much needed. There is no doubt that as she entered into eternal glory, she was welcomed with “‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” May she rest high on the mountain, in the presence of Jesus, with the peace and reverence of almost 80 years of a life well and fully lived.

A visitation honoring Ann’s memory will be held at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas, on January 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on January 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Baugh officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Dean at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland on February 2, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM.

Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Patricia Ann Constable. Please leave kind thoughts and condolences on her obituary page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com
