Karen Sue (Chambers) Bundick Henderson, 76, of Blanket, Texas passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026. A visitation with her family will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2026 with services starting at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Heartland Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Blanket Cemetery.

Karen attended high school in Blanket where she was a multi-sport athlete. One of her proudest accomplishments was being part of the state champion track team. She later graduated from Merkel high school. After high school, Karen married her high school sweetheart Eddie Bundick with whom she had 3 sons. Karen worked at several places over the years including Safeway, Blanket high school cafeteria and 3M. She married Sam Henderson in 2000 to whom she was happily married until his death in 2018. She took pride in being part of her community, being on the Blanket City Council and Lions Club.

Karen was someone who never spoke a bad word about another person.  Her compassion was only matched by her patience. Her first thoughts were always of her kids and later her grandkids. There was never a sacrifice she wouldn’t happily make to provide for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love.

Karen is survived by her sons, Jim Bundick and wife Dana of Blanco, Texas, Jay Bundick and wife Jennifer of Red Oak, Tx & Benjamin Bundick and wife Niki of Cisco, Texas; siblings,  Sandra Parker and husband Tim of Brownwood, Janniece of Georgetown & Tommy Chambers of Bangs; 7 grandchildren, Jordan, Anthony, Ashley, Jered, Ryan, Jake & Gracie; 3 great grandchildren; and many friends.

Karen was preceded in death by husband, Sam Henderson; her parents, W.T. & Lucille Chambers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Corinne T. Smith animal shelter at https://browncountyhumanes.wixsite.com/website/copy-of-home
