
The Brownwood Lady Lions returned the win column Thursday in their first home soccer match of the season, knocking off Fort Worth Castleberry, 3-1, at Gordon Wood Stadium.
The game was a rematch from the Castleberry tournament back on Jan. 9, where the Lady Lions (7-2-1) scored twice in the final eight minutes to steal a 2-1 victory.
In the second meeting against Castleberry (6-6), Brownwood was dominated throughout as the Lady Lions received goals from Alayna Hernandez, with an assist from Madison Weckwerth, Kynlee Jefferson unassisted, and Nixon Johnson, with an assist from Hernandez.
The Lady Lions are back at home at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host Burkburnett.
