
GRAHAM – A lead after one quarter quickly got away from the Brownwood Lions, who fell victim to a fifth straight setback and started District 6-4A action with a second consecutive loss, 59-35 at Graham Tuesday night.
Up 14-12 after one, the Lions (10-13, 0-2) trailed 32-21 at halftime and faced a 41-32 deficit against Graham (16-10, 1-1) heading into the fourth quarter, where Brownwood was outscored 18-3 over the final eight minutes.
Cannon Calvert scored a team-best 11 points for Brownwood followed by eight from Elias Perez, five each from Carson Noe and Grant Gray, four points from Durham Brown, and two points from Judson Coalson.
Graham’s Bryce Martin poured in a game-high 24 points.
The Lions are scheduled to host No. 16 Brock (16-9, 1-1) – which is coming off a 74-59 loss to Glen Rose (18-8, 2-0) Tuesday night – at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
