Jade Morin (24) and the Brownwood girls (23-3, 3-0) visit Graham (8-16, 0-3) at 5:45 p.m. in District 6-4A action

Winners of 15 consecutive contests and now 20 games above the .500 mark, the District 6-4A co-leading Brownwood Lady Lions climbed another spot to No. 8 in the Jan. 19 edition of the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 4A girls state rankings.

The Lady Lions (23-3) wrap up the first half of league play this week as they visit Graham (8-16, 0-3) at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, where a victory would most likely lead to a 5:45 p.m. Friday showdown at Warren Gym with No. 3 Brock (20-5, 3-0) for sole possession of the 6-4A lead at the halfway point of the district race.

The rest of the TABC 4A Top includes No. 1 Decatur (24-4), No. 2 Canyon (20-2), No. 4 Sunnyvale (21-5), No. 5 Dallas Lincoln (16-8), No. 6 Bridge City (23-2), No. 7 Waco La Vega (16-11), No. 9 Houston Wheatley (16-2) and No. 10 Seminole (22-4).

In the TABC boys rankings, both May and Zephyr maintained their spots in the Class A boys poll for the third week in a row. The Tigers (14-8) again come in at No. 17 while the Bulldogs (17-6) are still ranked No. 25.

Meanwhile, the May Lady Tigers (21-7) are making their season debut in the TABC Girls Class A Top 25 at No. 23.
