Gayle Lynn Teague, 85, of Blanket, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026. A visitation with the family will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Heartland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held in the Blanket Cemetery 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2026.

Gayle Lynn Teague was born on August 7, 1940 to Carl and Maude Green Teague in Blanket, Texas. Gayle grew up in Blanket and attended Blanket Public School until his graduation in 1960.

During his high school years, Gayle was a stellar athlete both on the football field and the track. He was the high point athlete at the Bluebonnet relays and referred to by the local newspaper as “Powerhouse Gayle Teague”. After high school, Gayle enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was very proud of his military service and the opportunity it provided to see other parts of the world.

After serving in the military, Gayle returned to Brown County and married Mary Ann Morrison in 1963. They had two girls, Toni and Tracy, and were married until Mary Ann’s death in 1986. Gayle was one of the first employees hired at the 3M manufacturing plant in 1965. He was employed there for 33 years.

After retiring, Gayle loved traveling, especially to Las Vegas, with his many friends. He also enjoyed his regular game of dominoes with his buddies.

Gayle is survived by his two daughters, Tracy Person, of Brownwood and Toni Heaps and husband, Kendall of Burleson; grandchildren, Ryan Layton, Banner Loos and Madison Heaps; nieces, Sherry Cook and Rhonda Lupardus; three great-granddaughters; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; brother, Bobby Teague; and his parents.

Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
