Betty Lois Henderson wife, mother, grandmother and elementary school teacher passed from this life on Friday, December 5, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born Betty Lois Scott on September 14, 1935 to Leo and Bernice Russell Scott.  Raised in Santa Anna experiencing the small town life, she attended Santa Anna Schools and graduated from Santa Anna High School Class of 1953. On September 8, 1953 Betty married the love of her life and best friend Roy Dale Henderson in his mother’s home in Santa Anna and they celebrated 52 years of marriage, Roy preceded her in death May 27, 2006,

After marriage she began her college education earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the College of the Southwest in 1966 and began her teaching career in 1967.  She pursued further education graduating a true Red Raider in 1976 from Texas Tech University with a master’s degree in education.

Betty gave to the youth of our state teaching for 15 years in Levelland and Midland, Texas.  She retired from teaching to travel with Roy for Baker Hughes Oil Co,

Betty was a member of the Baptist Church and had been a resident of San Antonio for the past 5 years.

Survivor Daughter Dana Henderson Mattox of San Antonio, TX; Granddaughters Callie Lynn & Abbie Lynn & Son in law Chip Lynn of San Antonio, Tx  Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sharlet Henderson Lynn her brother BJ (Billie Joe) Scott & sister Patsy Granad.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 11:00 am till 12:30pm at Henderson  Funeral Home of Santa Anna,  Services will follow at 1:00pm at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with Chip Lynn officiating.  Services are under the direction & Care of the Staff of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.
