HOOPS ROUNDUP: Blanket boys still undefeated; May boys, girls return to win column

Blanket Tigers 50, Lohn 18

LOHN – The Blanket Tigers improved to 6-0 on the season with a 50-18 road triumph over the Lohn Eagles Tuesday night.

Blanket led 15-2 after one quarter, 28-4 at halftime, and 38-10 through three frames.

Leading the charge for the Tigers were Mason Beck with 15 points, Kannon Kensing with 13, Brian Shannon with six, Karter Keel with five, Alex Valdes and Albert Espinosa with four each, Cole Furry with two, and Leo Valdes with one point.

Blanket is slated to take part in the Rising Star tournament Thursday through Saturday.

May Tigers 57, Rocksprings 25

MAY – The May Tigers bounced back from their first loss of the season and handed the Rocksprings Angoras a 57-25 defeat Tuesday night.

May (6-1) led 12-6 after one quarter, 27-10 at halftime, and 48-20 heading to the fourth period.

Brody Stice paced the Tigers with 22 points followed by Kobey Morris with 15, Kaden Watkins with 11, Jackson Lusk with five, Tyran Perry with four and Newman with two points.

The Tigers open play in the Brady tournament against Water Valley on Thursday.

May Lady Tigers 57, San Angelo Homeschool Saints 2

MAY – The May Lady Tigers pummeled the San Angelo Homeschool Saints by a 57-2 count Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers were in front 26-0 after one quarter, 38-2 at halftime, and 52-2 through three periods.

Scoring for May were Jordyn Gerhardt with 18 points, Chloe Lord with 15, Aubree Gerhardt with nine, Cortney Harper with seven, Lauren Hicks with five, and McKenna Landes with three points.

The Lady Tigers (10-3) are slated to compete in the Brady tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Eastland 37, Zephyr Lady Bulldogs 29

ZEPHYR – The Zephyr Lady Bulldogs came up on the short end of a 37-29 decision at Class 3A Eastland Tuesday night.

Eastland led 12-5 after one period, 24-9 at the break, and 37-21 heading the fourth period, where the Lady Bulldogs did not surrender a point.

Zephyr received 11 points from Kenlyn King, 10 from Avery Stevens, six from Calyn Kubin and two points from Sydney Hobson.

The Lady Bulldogs will next host the Zephyr tournament Thursday through Saturday.
