Brownwood ISD shared the following information on social media Tuesday afternoon:
Brownwood Independent School District (BISD) is pleased to announce that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has granted the district’s appeal of its 2025 accountability ratings. The decision corrects errors in previously submitted data and more accurately reflects the academic progress and achievements of Brownwood High School and the district as a whole.
Following the appeal, Brownwood High School’s overall scaled score has been adjusted from 67 to 78, and the district’s overall scaled score has increased from 74 to 78.
“This outcome validates the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff,” said Dr. Joe Young, Superintendent of Brownwood ISD. “While we still have areas for continued growth, it is essential that our accountability ratings accurately assess and demonstrate the progress we have achieved. We are grateful to TEA for thoroughly reviewing the corrected data and granting this appeal.”
The appeal was based on the correction of data errors in the 2023-2024 PEIMS submission related to College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators. The updated scores will be officially reflected on TXschools.gov and all final 2025 accountability reports beginning December 11, 2025.
Brownwood ISD remains committed to providing a high-quality education and preparing all students for success after graduation.
