
LORENA – Following a 60-29 victory over College Station to start the Lorena tournament earlier Thursday, the No. 13 Brownwood Lady Lions were handed a 66-42 loss by No. 20 Lubbock Cooper Liberty Thursday night.
Brownwood led 10-9 after one quarter, but fell behind 31-15 at halftime and faced a 47-28 deficit after three quarters as Lubbock Cooper Liberty shot 65 percent from the floor over the final three periods.
The Lady Lions shot 35 percent (18 of 51) from the floor, 20 percent (4 of 20) from the three-point arc, and 50 percent (2 of 4) from the free throw line.
Trinity Roberts finished with 14 points followed by 13 from Hannah Deen, eight from Icess Hall, five from Nylah Hall and two points from Jentry Coalson.
The Lady Lions (8-3) are slated to face host Lorena at 2:30 p.m. Friday and Hutto at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
