Alroy Stegemoller, 79, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, November 14, 2025, after a journey of cancer.  He reunited with Jesus in the comfort of his bed at home just like he wanted.  To honor his request of not having a funeral, the family will have visitation at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas, on November 30, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.  A graveside service will be held in Priddy, Texas, at St. John’s Cemetery on December 1, 2025, at 1:00pm with Pastor Mark of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.

Alroy was born July 22, 1946, in Gorman, Texas, to Roy and Clara Stegemoller.  He graduated from Priddy High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Tarleton State University.  He married Judith Ann Tubbs on July 3, 1965, to which were born two children Jennifer Yvonne and Aaron Kinsey Stegemoller.  After losing his wife in an automobile accident, he married Lowell Elaine Winnette May 28, 1982, and became a stepfather to Matthew Allen Winnette. Together they raised the family in Brownwood, Texas.

Alroy worked for Superior Cable, now called Superior Essex, for 55 years. He started the year the plant opened in Brownwood working the nightshift on the floor and eventually moved his way up as Quality Manager. He loved working at Superior and enjoyed his coworkers which he referred to as his “other” family.  He had a knack for solving challenging problems and never gave up until problems were resolved. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the company with coworkers to encourage success. Outside of his professional career, Alroy loved “puttering” in his yard.  You would often see him mowing, pulling weeds, and maintaining his home and yard. He rarely sat down for long as he was a worker at heart.  He loved spending time with his family and was a Dad at heart. He was devoted to caring for his wife Lowell for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Lowell Stegemoller; daughter, Jennifer Henicke of Brady; son, Aaron Stegemoller of Ames, Iowa; stepson, Matthew Winnette of Houston, Texas; and his two granddaughters Adde and Lucy Stegemoller of Ames, Iowa.

Alroy was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Clara Stegemoller, first wife Judy Stegemoller, and other relatives.

The family especially thanks Randi, Tiffany, Deborah, Jackye, and Stacy from KinderHearts Hospice. The care and respect they showed Dad is beyond amazing.  In the words of our Dad on many an email, “Carry On”.

Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
