Mickey Perkins of Brownwood, Texas passed away peacefully on October 31st, 2025. His family will host a visitation from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, November 7th at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Indian Creek Cemetery in Brown County.

He was born to Marion and Wilma Perkins and was the youngest of four brothers: Ellis Perkins, Jerry Perkins, and Larry Perkins.

He graduated from Zephyr High School in 1962 and joined the National Guard later that year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Wilma Perkins; his brother, Ellis Perkins and wife Roberta; and his brother, Larry Perkins and wife Brenda.

He is survived by his loving partner, Kay Miller of Brownwood, Texas, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Perkins, and by his beloved children: Lezli Perkins of Las Vegas, Nevada; Trisha Perkins of Farmers Branch, Texas; Mickel Perkins and wife Leslie of Brownwood, Texas; Mickay Welch and husband Robert of Dripping Springs, Texas; Adrian Pruett and wife Veronica of Early, Texas; and Angie Goette of Gatesville, Texas.

Mickey was a proud and devoted grandfather to Austin Goodwin, Ariel Goodwin, Taylor Clements, Meghan Clements, Trevor Person, Remy Perkins, Riven Perkins, Zaylee Couch, Brayden Horton, Ashlyn Horton, Riley Pruett, Tony Pruett, Adriana Pruett, and Dylan Summey. He was further blessed with great-grandchildren Ella, Gavin, Jazelle, Eva, Khaden, Rhylee, Isabella, Hartley, Finley, Oakley, Levi, and Laura, all of whom brought him immense joy.

He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will cherish his memory.

Mickey began his career at Roberts & Petty in 1965, later becoming a partner in the 1970s. He worked alongside his fellow partner and lifelong friend Dale Nix, as well as Michelle Ragsdale. The three worked together for many decades, and their shared dedication, loyalty, and friendship were the foundation of the company’s enduring success – a true reflection of Mickey’s own steadfast character.

Mickey’s work ethic, integrity, and compassion left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him -qualities he passed down to his family and all who worked beside him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
