
BANGS – The Bangs Dragons experienced defeat for the first time since Sept. 5 as their five-game win streak reached its conclusion Friday night with a 47-20 loss to the reigning District 5-2A Division I champion Hamilton Bulldogs.
After committing just four turnovers all season Bangs (5-3, 2-1) was a victim of three turnovers against Hamilton (6-2, 3-0).
The Dragons finished with 274 yards of total offense – 175 rushing and 99 passing.
Cason Tidwell again led the way on the ground with 75 yards and two trips to the end zone, followed by 42 yards from Eliseo Rivas, 38 from Jayden Robinson and 17 from Jackson Edmisten.
Through the air, Hunter Withers connected on 5 of 12 passes for 99 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. Ryan Alqorum caught two passes for 61 yards with a touchdown, Tidwell added two receptions for 27 yards, and Rex Guerrero contributed an 11-yard grab.
Next week, Bangs visits De Leon (6-2, 3-0), which earned a 66-14 victory over Ballinger (3-5, 0-3) Thursday night.
