Bangs volleyball starts second half of league play with four-set loss to Coleman

Karlyee Sliger (11) and the Lady Dragons (7-23, 0-5) are back in action at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Hico.

BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons began the second half of their District 5-2A volleyball schedule with a 23-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-22 loss to Coleman Tuesday night.

Ashlynn Sliger finished with 11 kills for Bangs trailed by nine from Cameryn Harmon, three from Jasmine Lewis, two each from Stormy Stringer and Karlyee Sliger, and one piece by Justice Baker and Aubrey Martin.

Baker dished out 22 assists while Cricket Caulkins contributed four and Ashlynn Sliger was credited with one.

Adalynne Stephens served a team-best three aces followed by two each from Kylee Byler, Cloey Petty, Ashlynn Sliger and Harmon.

On the defensive end, Petty logged 16 digs along with 14 from Stephens, 12 from Baker, eight from Harmon, six from Ashlynn Sliger, five each from Byler and Stringer, four from Caulkins, two from Karylee Sliger and one apiece from Lewis and Lily Boren.

At the net, Ashlynn Sliger recorded all three blocks for Bangs.

The Lady Dragons (7-23, 0-5) are back in action at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Hico.
