Woodland Heights Elementary kindergarten classes concluded their recent study of Texas by celebrating with a rodeo. On Monday, April 4th, students were able to take part in a field full of traditional rodeo-themed events including a hay ride, branding station, stick horse race, roping lesson, and more.

The event took place outdoors on the Woodland Heights Elementary campus, dubbed “The Woodland Ranch” throughout the rodeo. Parents generously donated rodeo items and snacks for the event and students from BHS National Honor Society also volunteered to monitor event stations.

“The Kindergarten Rodeo is a great start to students’ introduction to Texas history,” noted Woodland Heights Elementary Kindergarten Teacher, Kelsie Eldred. “We would like to thank parents and the NHS volunteers for making this annual event possible.”
