
LUBBOCK – The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions cross country teams competed at the Lubbock ISD Invitational Saturday, which serves as the regional preview meet at Mae Simmons Park.
The Lady Lions placed fourth in Class 4A with 142 points, trailing only Canyon (30 points), Andrews (98 points) and Stephenville (100 points).
Rebekkah Delgado led the way for the Lady Lions in 18th place with a time of 13:25.2, followed by Lyndi Biasiolli (25th, 13:43.3), Ailean Palacios (28th, 13:58.1), Haylee Adkins (35th, 14:08.4), and Destiny Sharp (44th, 14:20.4).
Meanwhile, the Lions came in ninth place in the Class 4A team standings with 272 points, leaving them behind Big Spring (35), Perryton (79), Pecos (92), Andrews (163), El Paso Austin (178), Mineral Wells (185), Stephenville (186) and Pampa (218).
Bennett Windham placed 17th in a time of 17:32.8 to headline the Lions’ effort, trailed by Reagun Munsugu (52nd, 19:13.2), Carter Massey (59th, 19:22.4), Juston Burt (83rd, 20:00.1), and Brayden Musick (85th, 20:05.6).
The next action for the Lions and Lady Lions is the Monday, Oct. 6 District 6-4A meet at Brock.
