In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Floraetta Jones, who departed this life into the arms of Jesus, on September 19, 2025 at the age of 96. She was born on April 24, 1929 in Stanton, Tx, to John W. Martin and Lois M. Harris Martin.  Floraetta was a beloved mother, grandma (nanny), sister and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Floraetta is survived by her daughter, Nora Sheffield, two sons John R. (Bob) and Christine Jones, Walter L. (Lynn) and Rebecca (Becky) Jones and sister Deborah Douglas, who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren she inherited along the way.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert E. (Gene) Jones and one son Claude R. (C.R.) Jones along with her parents.
Floraetta worked hard all her life to care for her family from pulling cotton, doing “cowboy” stuff working on a ranch, the sewing factory, the local tile plant and Stevens Hardware Store.  She enjoyed camping, fishing, growing a garden and looking out for her fur babies, reading, and traveling.  Floraetta will be remembered for her boundless generosity, infectious laughter, and the love she shared with all.  She will be deeply missed, but she will live on the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A service to honor and celebrate Floraetta’s life will be held on Monday, Sept 22, 2025 beginning with visitation at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  A graveside service will follow at the Valera Cemetery  starting at 11:00.  Lunch for the family will be served at the Valera Baptist Church at 12:00.
We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Jones family by signing the guestbook on Floraetta’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Jones family.
