Lady Lions cross country captures team championship at Brady meet

BRADY – In a change to their schedule, the Brownwood High cross country teams took part in Brady’s Heart of Texas Invitational Wednesday, where the Lady Lions secured the team championship.

Brownwood generated 53 points to outdistance runner-up Canyon Lake (68), while May placed 10th with 274 points and Bangs came in 13th with 310.

Rebekkah Delgado led the charge with 4th-place effort of 13:15 followed by Lyndi Biasiolli (11th, 14:11.8), Jade Morin (12th, 14:12.9), Haylee Adkins (15th, 14:15.4), Ailean Palacios (20th, 14:34), and Joclyn Salazar (28th, 14:52.3)

The Lions, meanwhile, placed fifth as a team with 120 points, trailing Mason (49), Sonora (61), Canyon Lake (81), and San Angelo TLCA (106).

Competing for the Lions were Carter Massey (16th, 19:50), Hayden Mair (21st, 20:18.1), Reagun Munsugu (25th, 20:21.6), Adrian Skrhak (28th, 20:27.8), Juston Burt (44th, 21:43.7) and Brayden Musick (49th, 22:20.7).

In JV action, the Lions finished first in the final team standings while the Lady Lions placed second as a unit.

Leading the way for the JV boys were Brayden Munsell (1st, 21:14.1), Jonathan Skrhak (4th, 21:49.3), Gio Diaz (9th, 22:57.1), Jonathan Solano (22nd, 24:54), and Kip Havens (25th, 25:35).

Running for the JV girls were Destiny Sharp (1st, 14:58.3), Montanna Ramsey (9th, 16:20.3), Riley Abernathy (11th, 16:21.9), Destiny Long (12th, 16:33.4), Brooklyn Bouldin (27th, 18:26), Kylie Arocha (33rd, 18:53.1), and Natalie Dillard (35th, 18:58.1).

The May Lady Tigers varsity squad consisted of Chloe Lord (25th, 14:43.6), Jordyn Gerhardt (31st, 14:58.2), Aubree Gerhardt (53rd, 15:50.2), Angie Medina (108th, 18:43.5), and McKenna Landes (115th, 19:32.7).

Comprising the Bangs Lady Dragons team were Adalynne Stephens (23rd, 14:42.5), Elizabeth Barnett (53rd, 15:42.3), Railey James (78th, 16:42.7), Karylee Sliger (111th, 18:52.1), and Casey Barnett (117th, 19:47.5).

Bangs Dragons running in the varsity boys portion of the meet included Noe Martinez (11th, 19:37.1), Benjamin Perez (33rd, 20:54.5), and Lane Hill (43rd, 21:43).
