Brownwood Middle School Band Earns Superior Rating at UIL Region 7 Concert & Sight-Reading Contest

Students from the Brownwood Middle School Band competed in the Region 7 UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest hosted at Coleman High School on Thursday, March 3rd.   The band earned an excellent rating on stage and a superior rating in sight-reading.

Comments from the contest judges included the following:

Stephen Moss, band director from Red Oak, Texas said, “Such outstanding teaching and learning happening in Brownwood! I enjoyed hearing your musical performance today.”

“Some nice musical moments, thanks for playing today,” noted Mike Lunney from Abilene Wylie.

Barry Hurt, retired director from Plainview, Texas wrote, “Nice ensemble sounds, there are many good players in this band!”

Brownwood Middle School congratulates the band for their hard work and an outstanding performance.

The Brownwood Middle School Bands will perform their spring concert on April 21st in the Brownwood Intermediate School cafetorium. The event will offer a dinner and a concert show.  The band invites the public to come eat and enjoy some great music from these hometown musicians.
