Elizabeth Nell Stuart, a beloved member of the Brownwood community, passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on September 1, 1953, Nell was known for her warm spirit, compassionate nature, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Nell met Glenn and married, at the First Baptist Church, where they both were actively involved in the adult Sunday School Class and attended worship service at the First Christian Church. Together, they shared a beautiful life and celebrated 37 wonderful years of marriage before Glenn’s passing.

Nell was cherished by many for her unique sense of humor and her infectious laughter. Nell was a big fan of HPU Basketball and Wrestling. In her leisure time, Nell enjoyed coloring, puzzles, and word searches.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Wakefield, Alan and Patricia Wakefield; brother Johnny Lovic, sister Jenny and husband Rev. Sam Broughton, Eva and husband Mike Varnum; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who loved her dearly. As we remember Nell, we cherish the memories that continue to inspire the lives she touched.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with a private burial at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood.

Nell Stuart will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
