For the first time this volleyball season, the Brownwood Lady Lions (12-9) play a match at Warren Gym, making their debut for 2025 in their 22nd game at 4:30 p.m. Friday against the Wall Lady Hawks.

Renovations are ongoing at Warren Gym, and some of those are complete, such as new ADA seating on the home side as well as the addition of new scoreboards.

On the Brownwood Lions Coaches Show on KOXE earlier this week, BISD Athletic Director Mitch Moore spoke about the changes that have been made, and those that are still to come.

“You’ll see a little bit of the beginning of our upgrades, mainly with handicap accessible seating on the home side and new ramps,” Moore said. “That will be right behind the scorer’s table. You’ll also see a couple of new scoreboards, they’re digital boards so we can run commercials like we do at the stadium, so that’s a nice upgrade.

“Work is continuing underneath the home bleachers, then on the other side there’s working going on with the locker rooms. There will be some new bleachers going in on the visitors side, but that will be closer to the holidays in November or December.”
