Billie Garrett Roddie, age 77, of Brady, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Brady. Billie was born on October 22, 1947, in Brady, to Hume Poston Roddie and Ila Ruth (Andrews) Roddie. Billie grew up and was a lifelong resident of Brady. He attended Brady High School, graduating in 1966. Over decades, he raised livestock on the Roddie Ranch as well as many other leased ranches across McCulloch County. He also worked in Ranch construction which he found to be extremely rewarding, seeing a vision come together upon completion of a project or job. He very much enjoyed vegetable gardening at his home. Billie also loved hunting, fishing, and telling stories with family and friends at the Ranch. He loved his family, his friends, and the Lord deeply. His relationship with the Lord flourished as he aged. He was a member of the Brady Methodist Church.
Billie Roddie’s wish was for his remains to be cremated and that his cremated remains were to be buried at the Brady Cemetery alongside his son, Will, and other family members. A Celebration of Life service will be 10:00am Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at the Brady Methodist Church with Reverend Cody Dykes officiating.
