Richard “Dick” Guzy

GuzyRichardRichard “Dick” Guzy, 66, of Coleman, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Brownwood.  Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yorktown, Texas.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Richard “Dick” Guzy was born June 12, 1949 in Yorktown to John Guzy and Cecilia Janyssek Guzy.  He grew up in Yorktown and graduated from high school there.  On August 12, 2011, he married Nikki Laws Donham in Coleman.  Richard worked as an elevator mechanic for Otis Elevator for 32 years and later worked for Thyssen and Krupp Elevator before retiring.  Richard moved to Coleman in 2009.  Richard was a member Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown, member of the Elevator Union and a very proud grandpa.

Survivors include his wife, Nikki Guzy of Coleman; one daughter, Beth Sallee and husband, Caleb, of Lubbock; one granddaughter, Harper Sallee of Lubbock; two sisters, Cathey Stauffer and husband, Dennis, of Burnett, Frances Villa of Yorktown; three step-children, Glen Donham and wife, Kristen, of LaMore, California, Michael Donham and wife, Monica, of Santa Anna, Stephen Donham of Brownwood; eight step grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.

He was preceded in by his parents and a brother-in-law, Rudy Villa.

Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.
