Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing on the proposed Brown County Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 9:00am. Commissioners Court will meet at the Brown County Courthouse, Commissioners Courtroom, 200 S Broadway, Brownwood, TX.

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $1,215,011 WHICH IS A 6.42% INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR’S BUDGET.  THE PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR IS $288,935.

A copy of the proposed budget is on file in the County Clerk’s office and is posted on the county website for public review. Any citizen will have the opportunity to give written and oral comments at the Public Hearing.
