Lady Dragons volleyball posts 1-4 record in weekend tournament action

VERIBEST – The Bangs Lady Dragons posted a 1-4 record during the Veribest tournament over weekend.

The Lady Dragons started tournament action Friday with losses to Reagan County and Veribest.

In the 27-25, 25-8 decision against Reagan County, Cameryn Harmon logged six kills followed by four from Ashlynn Sliger and one each from Justice Baker and Stormy Stringer.

Baker and Sliger recorded two aces each and Kylee Byler added one, while Baker also collected eights assists.

Defensive standouts were Cloey Petty with 10 kills, Baker with nine, Sliger with four, Jasmine Lewis with three, and Stringer with one.

Cricket Caulkins tallied the only Bangs block.

In a 25-9, 25-13 loss to Veribest, the Lady Dragons received three kills each from Harmon and Sliger, and one apiece from Baker and Lewis

Petty and Byler each recorded one ace, and Sliger tallied three assists.

Defensively, Byler and Sliger registered six digs each trailed by Petty with five, Harmon with four and Baker and Lewis with one apiece.

Sliger notched the only block.

The Lady Dragons notched their tournament win against Brady, 25-15, 25-16.

Sliger’s eight kills were a team-high followed by five from Horton, two from Baker and one from Stringer.

Baker logged 14 assists and three aces while Petty finished with a team-high five aces.

Petty’s nine digs led the team followed by five from Stephens, four from Byler, three each from Harmon and Baker, two from Caulkins and one apiece from Stringer, and Karlyee Sliger.

Ballinger upended the Lady Dragons in three sets, 12-25, 25-20, 17-15.

Harmon recorded seven kills, five came from Ashlynn Sliger, four from Baker and two from Stinger.

Baker also notched 13 assists and four aces while Petty served three aces and Byler added one.

Baker registered 16 digs trailed by Petty with 12, Byler with six, Ashlynn Sliger with five, Harmon with four, Stringer with three, Caulkins and Stephens with two and Karlyee Sliger with one.

Ashlynn Sliger recorded four blocks and Baker and Harmon each chipped in a pair.

Bangs played Reagan County again and came up short in three sets, 25-27, 25-15, 15-11.

Harmon finished with eight kills followed by seven from Ashlynn Sliger, two from Karlyee Sliger and one from Stringer.

Baker notched 21 assists and Caulkins added two, while Stephens served four aces followed by two from Baker and one apiece from Harmon, Byler, Petty, and Ashlynn Sliger.

Petty chipped in 12 digs trailed by Baker with 11, Harmon with eight, Stephens with seven, Byler with four, Caulkins with two, and Ashlynn Sliger with one.

Caulkins, Baker, Karlyee Sliger and Aubrey Martin netted one block apiece.

The Lady Dragons (1-5) are back in action Tuesday at Brady.
