Lady Horns volleyball remains unbeaten with three wins at Brady tournament

Aubrie Devillier (7) and the Early girls (4-0) defeated Bronte, Coleman and Rising Star and are back in tournament action Saturday against Richland Springs at 8 a.m., Rochelle at 9 a.m. and Brady at 1 p.m.

BRADY – The Early Lady Horns volleyball team remained unbeaten on the season with three victories at the Brady tournament Thursday.

The Lady Horns started tournament play with a 25-12, 25-11 triumph over Bronte.

Aubrie Devillier led the way with five kills trailed by Jensyn Rasor with four, Grey Pruett with two, and Kailyn Gallardo and Ellie Shea with one each.

Pruett recorded nine assists while Cassidy Frerichs chipped in five, and Rasor tallied both of Early’s two aces.

Defensively, Devillier collected 10 digs followed by Pruett and Frerichs with four apiece, Gabby Benson with three, and Tiffany Phelps with two.

At the net, Pruett logged two blocks while Rasor, Devillier, Frerichs and Shea finished with one each.

Early followed with a 25-14, 25-17 victory over Coleman.

In the match, Devillier chalked up six kills along with four from Rasor, and two apiece from Shea, Pruett and Gallardo.

Pruett added nine more assists and Frerichs recorded a pair, while Devillier served three aces and Rasor added one.

On the defensive end, Rasor, Pruett and Devillier all finished with six digs trailed by Gallardo with four and Benson and Frerichs with three apiece.

Shea registered two blocks at the net and Rasor and Pruett notched one each.

Thursday’s finale was a 25-5, 25-11 thumping of Rising Star.

Rasor and Devillier paced the attack with eight kills each trailed by Shea with three, Pruett with two and Gallardo with one.

Pruett finished with a team-best 10 assists and Frerichs tacked on five, while Phelps, Pruett and Gallardo each served an ace.

Defensively, Frerichs and Devillier secured four digs apiece, Benson logged three, Phelps added a pair and Gallardo recorded one.

At the net, Frerichs tallied the lone block for the Lady Horns.

The Lady Horns (4-0) are back in tournament action Saturday against Richland Springs at 8 a.m., Rochelle at 9 a.m. and Brady at 1 p.m.
