Frances Diane Lee, 80, passed away July 1, 2025, in Fort Worth, Tx.

Diane was born February 28, 1945, to Viginia Lemmons Hallford and Alton Cloyd Hallford in Brownwood, Texas.

Frances “Diane” Lee was born and raised in Brownwood, Texas. She attended Brownwood High School, where she met her husband, Jimmy E. Lee. Jimmy relentlessly asked Diane for a date until one day during their senior year, she finally agreed. After graduating in 1963, she attended North Texas State University, while Jimmy went to East Texas State and Tarleton State. Diane graduated with an Education Major, and a minor in music. She was an accomplished concert pianist through her college years. After college, Jimmy and Diane married and settled in Fort Worth Texas. Diane taught elementary school in the White Settlement ISD and Fort Worth ISD for over 30 years. Diane loved to travel with her friends, often going on cruises. She was adventurous and full of life and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed a friend. After Jimmy’s death in 2000, she moved to Colorado where she lived alone with her mountains and wildlife. Later she moved back to Fort Worth to be closer to her family.

Diane had a great sense of humor, which was never lost, even through her battle with cancer. She was sweet and never stopped making sure that everyone around her was ok, especially her children.

Diane is survived by her children, Stacey Ruckle (John), Jimmy E. Lee, Jr., and granddaughter Jordan, sister-in-law Donna Arnett (Ron), and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lee, parents Tony and Virginia Hallford, and her sister-in-law Dorothy Ferguson.

A graveside service for family will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Donations in memory of Diane may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
