Health Department to Host Quarterly Maternity Fair

browncountyhealthcenterThe Brownwood/Brown County Health Department and the City of Brownwood will host their next quarterly maternity fair on Thursday, February 18th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The maternity fair will be held in the meeting room inside the Welcome Center at the TSTC Brownwood Campus, located at 305 Booker in Brownwood.

The maternity fair is presented as a service to the expectant mothers of the Brown County area by BBCHD and the City of Brownwood in order to provide valuable information about infant health care, immunizations, safety, effective parenting, infant and child nutrition and available resources.

There is no charge to attend the maternity fair, and it is open to all expectant mothers in Brownwood and the surrounding area. A meal will be served and each participant may bring one guest with them.

Representatives from the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department, WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program, Family Services Center, Texas Star Program, Ranger College, TxDOT KidSafe program, Caring Family Network, 211 Texas and Pregnancy Care Center will be present to provide information about services offered and resources that are available in our area.

Participants will be provided with information about communicable diseases, immunizations for infants, children and adults, feeding your baby, breastfeeding, nutrition, parenting tips, infant and child care seat safety and healthy living.

Each participant will receive a gift bag of free items and drawings will be held for door prizes.

Registration is required for planning purposes. For questions or to register for the maternity fair, please call the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department at 325-646-0554, or come by 510 E. Lee St. in Brownwood.
