Lucille Cumba

CumbaLucilleFuneral Services for Lucille Cumba, age 86,  of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Southside Church.  Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 PM Saturday at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.  Mrs. Cumba passed away Thursday in Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Ruby Lucille was born on August 31, 1929 in Coryell County to Ellis and Vernie Brown Walters.  In 1947, she married Billy Noil Cumba in Brady.   Mrs. Cumba had lived the majority of her life in Brownwood and was a member of Southside Church.  After the death of her husband in 1979, she worked at various jobs to support her family.  She had also volunteered for the Hospital, Food Bank, Good Samaritan,  Southside Baptist Church, MOPS, and other organizations.

Survivors include her children Billy W. Cumba of Blanket, Linda Everett and husband Mike of Axtell, Tx., Barbara Cockerham and husband Kim of Early; grandchildren Shan Cumba, Damon Cumba and Summer, Kinsey Cumba and Brittney, Welsey Everett, Sherri Williams and Roger, Toby Cockerham and Monica, Jason Cockerham and Mitzi; great grandchildren Cooper Cumba, Maddeline Williams, Noah Cockerham, Eli Cockerham, Peyton Cockerham, Madison Waddell; siblings Bonnie Roberts and husband Joe, Wanda Netherton, Donnie Walters and wife Elaine, Charles Walters and wife Judy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Goldeen Walters and brother James Walters.
