The Brownwood Police Department and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host a free workshop for local businesses to educate them on the new Open Carry gun laws going into effect January 1st.   Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley will give an overview of the new laws and how it may impact local businesses.

The workshop will be held at the Brownwood Fire Department Training Room located on Adams Street.  The workshop will be offered at 4 different days and times to accommodate local businesses’ schedule.  Each session will last about an hour and include the following days and times:

• Monday        November 30         4 PM
• Tuesday        December 1          Noon
• Monday        December 7          5 PM
• Wednesday   December 9          9 AM
