Keesee

Funeral Services for William Karl Keesee, age 49, of Early will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ in Brownwood. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 in Mills County.

Sergeant Keesee was born on April 29, 1966 in Brownwood to Johnny Kenneth and Merle Keesee. He was a graduate of Brownwood High School. Karl married Darla Boyd on June 8, 1985 in Early. He was a Sergeant for the Texas Department of Public Safety. Sgt. Keesee received numerous awards during his 25 years of service, including Department and Investigative Excellence Award, DPS and Directors Life Saving Award. He was recognized by the Texas Judicial System as an expert witness on crash reconstruction and a certified crash reconstructionist. He was a Department Instructor for crash school and served as a Field Training Officer. He was a member of the Department Public Safety Officers Association and the Department of Public Safety Quarter Century Club for his over 25 years of service. A lifetime resident of this area, Sgt. Keesee was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting, fishing, being a handyman but, above all, his greatest love was his family that he always put first.

Survivors include his wife, Darla Keesee; daughter, Karesa Keesee; son, Karlton Keesee and wife, Hillari, who are soon to have the first grandchild; mother and step-father, Merle and Guy Lemond; brother, Tony Keesee and wife Kristie and his sister Mindy Keesee. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Anita Boyd; sister-in-law, Nita Boyd; brother-in-law, Leon Boyd; nieces, Mia Stroope and Meagan Keesee; nephew, Brandon Keesee and several step-brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Kenneth Keesee and father-in-law, Gainer Boyd.
