Antique and collectible clothing and uniform buttons are the third most collected item in the world behind coins and stamps. Their historical and cultural significance plus unlimited variety of subjects, materials and designs as miniature works of art are a fascination to collectors and decorative arts enthusiasts.

The Texas State Button Society will hold its fall workshop and button sale at the Adams Street Community Center in Brownwood, Texas on Saturday, October 3. The sales showroom will open to everyone from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and is open to the public free of charge.

This will be a special opportunity to see thousands of beautiful antique and collectible clothing and uniform buttons. The public is invited to bring any collections of buttons they may have for assistance in identifying what they are and if they have collectible value. There will be 7 expert button dealers on hand to assist with information and they will have buttons available for purchase.

Local button collector and Brownwood City Councilman Jerry DeHay will have two George Washington inaugural buttons on display during the event, which are major historical pieces, according to DeHay.
