5K10KRun

The annual 10K/5K Run and 1.5 Mile Walk kicked off events for the second day of the Brownwood Feels Like Home Celebration on Saturday, September 19th.   Runners for the 10K started around 7:30 AM Saturday morning followed soon after by the 5K runners and then the walkers.

The run is an annual tradition for the festival each year and attracts more than 400 runners from across the state.  This year runners from as far away as Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota competed.  The route traveled through historic downtown Brownwood.  It began and ended at the Lehnis Railroad Museum and took runners past the Depot District, Center Park, the Lyric Theatre, Brown County Courthouse and the Guinness Book of World Record’s smallest block in the world.

The top female runner in the 10K was Rebecca Trump with a time of 46:51.2.  The top male runner in the 10K was Timothy Hall with a time of 38:21.3.

The top female 5K runner this year was 12-year-old Grecia Yebra with a time of 22:09.2.  The top 5K male runner was 33-year-old B. Ramirez with a time of 17:23.6.

The 2015 Feels Like Home 5k/10k run and 1.5 mile walk was sponsored by Brownwood Regional Medical Center and Landmark Life.
