Weekly Fishing Report for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 85–89 degrees; 1.42′ low. Black bass are fair on 4″ watermelon red worms and spinnerbaits near the docks in 12–18 feet. Hybrid striper are good on shad. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and small crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with cut bait and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water murky; 83–87 degrees; 6.94′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 79–86 degrees; 43.83′ low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, shakyheads, jigs and shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.

Lake Proctor

Water murky; 86–90 degrees; 1.35′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with shad.
