Grand Starz will be hosting a non-smoking bingo session on Thursday, September 17.   Doors open at 5 PM and bingo will start at 7 PM.   The Lionettes will also be there selling baked goods and spirit items.  Grand Starz is located at 2323 Belle Plain in Brownwood.

All proceeds will be donated to the BHS Lionettes who will be traveling to NY for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The cost of the trip is approximately $2800 per dancer, according to Lionettes director Stacee Hetzell who stated that BISD covers $0 for this trip, no taxpayer money is going toward this trip.  “The Lionettes and myself are responsible for raising all of the money on our own,” said Hetzell.  She stated that the Lionettes have been working hard, through various fundraisers including selling doughnuts, spirit items, a Chili’s Gives Back event, selling tickets to the annual Boots and Burlap shrimp boil and dance (to be held November 14th), and this fundraiser Bingo.

All fundraisers benefit the Lionettes to help pay for their trip to this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.  The Lionettes attended the American Dance Drill Team Camp at Southern Methodist University June 26th – June 28th where they were named All American Team of the Week for the 2nd time in Lionette history, which also includes an invitation to dance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
