Lee Charles Fox, 72, of Lake Brownwood, Texas passed away Monday, June 30, 2025. Heartland Funeral Home was entrusted with his care. The family will hold a memorial service for him at the Community Center located at 160 Pency Dr, Brownwood, TX 76801 on July 12th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The family asks that everyone bring a side dish or dessert for a potluck in his honor. In lieu of flowers, please donate to C.A.S.T. For Kids (castforkids.org) or a charity of your choice.
Lee Charles Fox was born on March 19, 1953 in Breckenridge, Texas to Billie Anne Clary and Roy Lee Fox. Lee Charles met his wife Debra “Debbie” Jean Powell at Crockett Jr. High School in Odessa. They married on November 2nd, 1972, and had two sons, Jason and Kenny Fox. They raised their boys in the quiet town of Baird, where they became well known in the community. Charles and Debbie relocated to Breckenridge after his sons graduated and started their own families. Together they opened Fox’s Kennel, where they boarded all kinds of family pets.
Charles worked as a correctional officer at the state prison until his retirement in 2015. He was an avid fisherman and a gifted craftsman, known for building beautiful furniture and cherished items that his family continue to enjoy. His greatest joys in life were his wife, family and pets. Charles and Debbie settled in Lake Brownwood where they spent their final years together with their beloved dog, Sage.
Charles is survived by his son, Jason and Aubrey Fox of Claremont, NC; his brother John Fox of Brownwood; his sister in-laws, Teresa and Kevin Forgue Yukon, OK, Vickie and Jimmy Ahrlett of Brownwood, Shirley Lovelace of Buffalo Gap, Kim and Tracy West of Buda; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Fox of Fort Worth, Ashley Fox of Abilene, Charles Fox of Merkel, Garrett Fox of Josephine, Allie and David Whittington of High Shoals, NC, Jacob and Anna Inman of Claremont, NC, Lorelei Inman of Claremont, NC; and five great-grandchildren, Elijah, Stephen and Hanna Whittington of High Shoals, NC, Delilah Inman of Claremont, NC, and Jackson White of Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Jean Fox; his parents, Billie Anne Clary and Roy Lee Fox; his brother, Kenneth Roy Fox, and his son, Kenny Charles Fox.
