Howard Payne University invites the public to the closing performance of the Texas Southern Gospel School of Music camp Friday, June 27, at 7:00 p.m. in Mims Auditorium.
This is the 29th year of the Texas Southern Gospel School of Music camp and the first year hosted on HPU’s campus. The two-week camp teaches music theory, sight singing/ear training and conducting. The camp also holds private lessons in guitar, voice and piano, and has group singing twice a day. Camp attendees range from children to senior adults.
Christine Adams, camp administrator and choir director expressed her gratitude towards HPU for hosting the camp.
“We have loved the culture of the campus,” said Adams, “and are so excited about our future here at Howard Payne University.”
