The Early Chamber of Commerce and Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Atwoods during its grand opening Wednesday morning at 1701 Early Blvd.
The Early location is the 80th Atwoods store, which has roots back to 1960.
Early Mayor Dr. Robert Mangrum said at the ribbon cutting, “This a momentous occasion for the City of Early and Brown County. We’ve had numerous developers and proposals and dreams for this property. It’s so great to see this dream finally come true where we’re standing right now. Today we celebrate the official opening of Atwoods and this business will greatly add to the community and be a great benefit to our citizens. We pledge that the City will be a good neighbor to you as we move forward with a bright future ahead.”
Brian Atwood, President of Atwoods and grandson of the company’s founders, said, “All we know is hard work and serving customers, that’s all we focus on. We have an incredible team here to serve you, and we’re extremely glad to be here. Our secret sauce is we make people feel welcome when they come in and I’m confident we’re going to do that here. Everybody on our team believes that, and we have a slogan in our company, ‘Atwoods is just like coming home.’ We believe in old fashion service and low prices.”
