The Brownwood Art Association Photo Group opened their annual photography show “A Photographic Journey…The Texas Missions” on Thursday, August 6th, and Anthony Reine was awarded the People’s Choice award for his work entitled The Alamo.

Reine was selected by attendees’ votes during the opening reception.  He also received $100 cash along with the plaque and ribbon for the award.

The show features over 150 photographs taken by 18 Brownwood Art Association members, some of which were taken during a trip to the five San Antonio missions, which have been named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.  It was estimated that over 250 people attended the opening reception event, according to BAA officials.

The opening reception was also a Brownwood Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event featuring chamber member KTXS television station of Abilene.

The photography show is open to the public, free of charge through Saturday, August 29th at the Brownwood Art Center, located at 215 Center Avenue in Brownwood.
