Brownwood Fire Department – Fire & Rescue Reports 8/7

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the period of July 27 – August 2, 2015 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 42 medical emergencies, 10 fire calls, 2 agency assist calls and 4 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

Monday, July 27

*9:49 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1100 block of Fisk Avenue regarding an automatic alarm activation with no fire found.  The incident was determined to be an alarm malfunction.

*10:32 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call on County Road 226 N where firefighters arrived on scene to find a small grass fire.  The fire was extinguished.

*1:15 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire on County Road 226 N.  Fire crews arrived on scene with Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department where they found a 10-15 acre fire in a hay field. Early and Bangs VFDs also assisted in containing and extinguishing the fire.

*3:50 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1000 block of Center Avenue regarding a general fire alarm.  Firefighters were informed upon arrival that the alarms were being tested.

*6:05 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at 3rd Street & Ave E.  Fire crews checked for injuries and assisted with loading of the patient.

Tuesday, July 28

*6:30 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1000 block of W. Commerce involving a vehicle striking a motel wall.  No occupants were on scene upon arrival.

*11:12 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 8100 block of County Road 267.  Firefighters arrived to find a small grass fire.

*9:08 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 700 block of 3rd Street.  Firefighters responded to a transformer that was smoking.  Oncor was contacted.

*10:16 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to an agency assist in the 1500 block of Terrace Drive to provide manpower for the police department.

Thursday, July 30

*8:42 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Beaver Street and Austin Avenue involving a motorcycle.

*5:04 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1700 block of Main Blvd.  Firefighters responded to the report of a mattress fire outside of a residence.  Firefighters extinguished the fire and the home was checked for fire extension and damage.

Friday, July 31

*4:54 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to an agency assist in the 300 block of E. Commerce where they assisted police with a ladder to provide access to a roof top.

*5:25 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at Avenue D and Vine Street involving a car striking a utility pole.  Firefighters checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*8:15 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the area of 1st and Lackey Streets.   After an investigation, power lines were found to be arching in tree.  Oncor was notified.

Saturday, August 1

*11:00 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1000 block of Romero.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find approximately 1/2 acre involved with brush piles on fire.  Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Sunday, August 2

*8:32 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2000 block of Austin Avenue.  Firefighters arrived at Coggin Park where a trash can which was smoking near a pavilion.  Firefighters extinguished the trash and cleared the scene.
