GoodSamaritainMinistriesLogoGood Samaritan Ministries will participate in Tax-Free Weekend this Saturday.  For the first time ever, the Good Samaritan Ministries Store will be open on a Saturday.

This Saturday, August 8 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., the public is invited to stop by 305 Clark Street and pick up some amazing items just in time for back to school shopping and Texas’ Tax-Free Weekend.

“That’s right! Not only will you get some amazing deals, but you won’t have to pay taxes,” encouraged Good Samaritan Ministries Program Manager Misty Bowers.  “If you’ve ever wanted to stop by the store and can’t make it during our regular hours, now’s your chance to come see what we’re all about.”

Good Samaritan Ministries is a local food pantry and clothing store offering a “hand up” to those in need.  GSM partners with hunters, landowners and area processors, through The Deer Project which provides protein to needy families via the donation of legally harvested white-tail deer.  GSM, through their Food for Thought program, provides shelf-stable, kid-friendly food to chronically hungry students in Brown County schools over the weekends during the school year when no other food source may be available.  Financial assistance is provided by GSM to help families with past due rent and utilities. Payments are made directly to the vendor on the client’s behalf. The client must pay a portion of the bill first. Assistance is provided only once during a 24 month period.

For more information about Good Samaritan’s programs and to donate or volunteer, please visit www.goodsambwd.org or call 325-643-2273.  Good Samaritan Ministries is located at 305 Clark Street in Brownwood.
