Margarita Reyes, age 68, of Brady, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Brownwood, Texas. Margarita was born on March 12, 1957, in San Steven, Coahuila, Mexico to George Marquez and Cruz (Meraz) Marquez. Margarita was a devoted homemaker. She moved to Brady in 1999, where she poured her heart into creating a warm, loving home for her family. She enjoyed watching novelas, was a wonderful cook, and lovingly cared for family members, often serving as both a babysitter and a caretaker for those who were ill.

Funeral services for Margarita Reyes will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, June 3, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Margarita is survived by her husband, Lurdes Reyes of Brady; sons Antonio Vargas of Acuña, Mexico, and Fidel Vargas of Del Rio, Texas; daughters Dolores Vargas and Laura Vargas, both of Acuña, Mexico; siblings Inocente Marquez, Basilia Marquez, Genoveva Marquez, Catalina Marquez and Monica Marqez; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Maria De La Luz Marquez, Bertha Marquez and Aldo Marquez.
