
Ten members of the Brownwood Lions baseball team received all-district accolades from the coaches of 6-4A.
First-team selections included shortstop Antonio Ybarra, first baseman Austin Wright, second baseman Austin Pittman, center fielder Jack Field, and pitcher Noah Gonzalez.
Landing on the second team were right fielder Wyatt Wolf and catcher Robbie Robinson.
Receiving honorable mention were third baseman Dario Rodriguez, first baseman Ian Barrera and pitcher Logan Flores.
The Lions finished the season with a 13-18 record, placed fourth in district with a 4-6 mark, and reached the bi-district round of the playoffs in Blake Sandford’s final season as a head coach.
Superlative award winners in 6-4A were Co-MVPs Jesse Rusinek of Brock and Holden Hering of Mineral Wells; Offensive MVP Jake Windle of Brock; Co-Defensive MVPs Kord Henry of Mineral Wells and Harison Brockway of Graham; Co-Pitchers of the Year Evan O’Connor of Brock and Ryder Taylor of Graham; Tri-Newcomers of the Year Asher Strait of Brock, Joe Randell of Glen Rose, and William Hollifield of Mineral Wells; and Utility Player of the Year Canon Lightfoot of Brock.
Rounding out the first team were infielders Mason Weyers of Stephenville and Tanner Hurford of Graham; outfielders Bruin Wright and Ty Thompson of Graham, Brayden Ray of Brock, Cutter Park of Stephenville and Kolton Harper of Glen Rose; pitchers Gabe Elms of Stephenville, Cullen Kickhoefer of Glen Rose, and Curry Crouch of Mineral Wells; and catchers Tripp Mahaney of Graham, Tanner Smith of Stephenville; and Esa Parentsua of Brock.
Completing the second team were infielders Adrian Sanchez and Mikey Porter of Glen Rose, Owen Gadd and Hayes Hering of Mineral Wells, Braxton Roberts and Hunter Martin of Brock, Mason Milton of Graham, and Jayden Ferguson of Stephenville; outfielders Weston Pickard of Brock and Mike Garcia of Graham; pitchers Ryder Baldwin and Eve Campos of Stephenville, Carson Simmons of Brock, and Newt Schroeder of Mineral Wells; and catcher Braxton May of Mineral Wells.
