
The sales tax allocations for May were up in Brownwood and Early, compared to May 2024, but down slightly in Bangs. This data was released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. May sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in March 2025. Details below.
BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $748,485, an increase of 6.15% over May 2024. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2024 through May 2025) the City of Brownwood has received $5,038,900, an increase of 6.05% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $227,825, an increase of 2.70% over May 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $1,623,397, up 4.95% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
EARLY
The City of Early received $203,081, an increase of 6.21% over May 2024. Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,514,204, down 7.83% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Early Municipal Development District received $65,090, an increase of 6.44% over May 2024. Fiscal year-to-date, the Early MDD has received $495,085, down 7.35% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $24,093, down 3.79% compared to May 2024. Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $193,678, up 10.25% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,225, an increase of 2.12% over May 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $26,845, up 7.04% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
