Central Texas Rural Transit District (CTRTD) held a groundbreaking for their CTRTD Multimodal Facility, located in Early, TX, on June 25.

The Multimodal Facility will provide centrally located administrative offices for City and Rural Rides (CARR), a transit hub for future Inner-City Bus (ICB) service, accommodate rural transit providers such as the Concho Valley Transit District (CVTD) and Hill Country Transit District (HCTD), and lastly provide job training and access support services.

A significant function and necessity of the Multimodal Facility is to offer additional administrative offices for CTRTD and further vehicle storage for CARR. The Multimodal Facility will also host other rural transit providers who are active in the West Central Texas Region which currently faces many mobility-related challenges.

“Central Texas Rural Transit District is very pleased that we are now in the construction process for our new multi-modal facility located in Early.  This has been a long process and we are excited about our future in the new building. We hope that this new facility will help with our current overcrowding and allow for future growth and improved operations in Brown County,” said, General Manager, J. R. Salazar.
