TxDotlogoTexas Department of Transportation reports that beginning this week, construction crews will start mill and inlay work on several sections of highways in Brown County, including locations in Brownwood, Early, Bangs, and Blanket.

Tentatively, crews are expected to work in the following order:

  • US 377 at Crockett Drive
  • US 377 at FM 3064
  • FM 3064 at Burnett Street
  • FM 3064 at US 377
  • US 377 near the Truman Harlow Overpass
  • US 377 at Austin Avenue
  • US 67 at FM 3254
  • US 67 at FM 586, Bangs
  • US 67 at CR 358, near Blanket
  • US 84 at US 67, Early

Mill and inlay maintenance work involves milling up the top few inches of roadway surface before replacing it with new asphalt material. Once this is complete, crews will restripe the road.

Motorists traveling in these areas may experience brief delays. Drivers should use caution around equipment and personnel, avoid distractions, and obey all traffic signs in the work zone.

The contract for this project was awarded to Bick’s Construction, Inc. for $583,558. Crews are expected to finish the work before late-August 2015.
