Peggy Ann Thweatt, born September 24, 1953, has left this earthly realm—probably to organize her collection of everything from vintage buttons, to weirdly specific knickknacks—something she did with unmatched enthusiasm. Peggy was a woman of honesty, kindness, and a truly impressive knack for sending random messages about everything from current news to the most obscure facts you never knew you needed. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, April 25, at Heartland Funeral Home. Funeral services for Peggy will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 26, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Peggy passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the age of 71.

She was a proud mom to Scott Hays, and his wife Lindsey; her daughters, Alissa Posey and her husband Tom, and Leia Allen and her husband Cody. Peggy is also survived by her brother Rock Thweatt. She was a loving Mimi to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest treasure—although her collection of “interesting” things was a close second.

Peggy adored her cat Sally, who now has a new human to spoil her with treats and cat toys. She was a collector of all kinds of things—some of which we’re pretty sure she bought just because they “were on sale”—and she never met a news story or quirky tidbit she didn’t want to share.

Her kindness, honesty and her laugh touched everyone she met, and her sense of humor left us all with plenty of stories to tell (and retell). She’ll be missed more than she knew, but her spirit—and her collections—will live on.

We find comfort knowing she’s in a place of peace, joy, and in the loving arms of Jesus—Until we meet again.

Condolences, memories, and tributes can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net
