Austin Pittman (10) recorded the only hit for Brownwood (10-13, 2-3), which looks for its third straight district split when Brock (16-2, 4-1) visits at 7 p.m. Friday

BROCK – The Brownwood Lions began their third consecutive two-game District 6-4A baseball series with a defeat, falling to the Brock Eagles, 13-0, Tuesday night in five innings.

The Lions (10-13, 2-3) will attempt to split their third league series in a row at 7 p.m. Friday when Brock (16-2, 4-1) visits Morris Southall Field.

In Tuesday’s contest, the Lions were limited to one hit – by Austin Pittman – while the Eagles collected eight hits, drew 11 walks and the Brownwood defense committed four errors. Logan Flores, Daylyn Ansons and Mason Millwee shared time on the mound for the Lions.

Scoreless after one inning, the Eagles opened a 4-0 edge in the second that grew to 7-0 through three frames and Brock tacked on six additional runs in the fourth inning.

In other district baseball action Tuesday, Mineral Wells (13-7-1, 5-0) edged Graham (12-8, 2-3) by a 2-0 count, and Stephenville (16-5-2, 2-3) was a 7-4 winner over Glen Rose (11-11, 0-5).
