Jose Luis Segovia, age 57, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 27, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1967, in Horton, Wyoming, to Benigno Segovia (deceased) and Ana Maria Manriquez, who survives him.

Jose was a proud graduate of Brownwood High School and dedicated over five years of his life working in and out of the oilfield. His unwavering faith was evident through his attendance at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, where he was an active member of the community.

Jose cherished family gatherings, relished cookouts, and loved dancing, making him the life of every gathering. He was a passionate supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed spending time tinkering with vehicles alongside his son-in-law and anyone who welcomed his enthusiasm.

He is survived by his beloved children: daughter Jessica and her husband Reynaldo Diaz; son Jose Segovia Jr.; daughter Shelbie Segovia; and son Benigno Segovia and his fiancée Andrea Martinez. Jose is also survived by his dear sisters, Nina and her husband Howard York, and Dora and her husband Jesus Larrea.

He was a proud grandfather to Jasmine, Jenavy, and Jemma Noyola; Sabriah, Serenity, and Serena Sauceda; and Sebastian, Aryah, and Aziel Segovia. Jose is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Jose is preceded in death by his father, Benigno Segovia, and his grandson, Jason Rick Noyola.

Visitation and rosary will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 31, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 1, at Saint Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Jose Segovia was a jokester, a loving father, and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
