The Brown County Museum of History is throwing a free street party for people and their pets, this Saturday, March 22, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The “Pet Block Party” will be held in front of the Museum and the Old Jail downtown, with vendors, pet costumes, photo ops, and pet adoptions.  According to Museum Director Kyndall Howard “This fun-filled event is a chance to bring your pet to enjoy the day.  All through history, animals have been a significant part of people’s lives, and we want to celebrate that.  We also take this chance to bring awareness of the important role of support dogs for veterans.  And Ethos Pet Brands — located right here in Brownwood — joins us this year as a major sponsor,”

The Pet Block Party will highlight the organization Veterans Moving Forward, a national association that helps veterans make a connection with support dogs.  Brochures and information will be available at the event.

In addition, dogs ready for adoption will be attending, as part of the Museum’s community partnership with local animal shelters.

Since animals are not allowed inside the buildings, all activities will be held outside, at 209 South Broadway in Brownwood.  For more information call the Museum of History at 325-642-1926, or go to browncountymuseum.org or Facebook.
